When I think of myself I do associate with most of the stuff that I grab are usually more hyped brands. In the example of a “Windows vs Mac Guy” I can totally relate to this considering the fact I remember always associating windows with like a more office type of guy I couldn’t picture my 19 year old self with a windows computer. In eight grade I remember always saying I never wanted a Samsung or any other phone I only wanted an apple and when I look back it is because all of my friends had it and it was the “cool” phone. I can see that the way us as a society consume all of the ideas of others and everyone trying to fit in there really is no type of individuality because we are all moving as a culture to be on the latest and greatest and not realizing that everyone else is doing the same exact thing. Lately I have noticed though most of the things that we wear now or try to particularly put us in a certain type of group for example they said wearing lulu lemons they are showing off their body or have interest in fitness . Many people even myself grab for stuff that I don’t even associate myself with like for example I wear Lululemon’s but I don’t exactly have interest for fitness but I still wear them and when I look at my wardrobe I see that much of what I wear I don’t exactly feel associated with. I wear vintage clothes but the whole time not aware of the bands that I am even representing. The point of saying that we all have different selves is true because depending on who or what we are by shapes the type of self we will put forth for example a child at school with friends is different then being a child at home with their parents because the surrounding is different and they try and act better of course with their parents rather than their friends. Many people try to associate themselves with a culture that they want to fit into and make a mold into their sense of self that really isn’t them for example when you grow up with your parents and their religion its like they mold you to carouse follow on in that religion and sometimes the child does and sometimes the child doesn’t but they are cultured to try and fit in. Everything in our everyday is branded and its crazy how much these effect our daily living I always sat back and thought I pay all this money for a car and I am a driving advertisement and that’s crazy to me but it’s reality and it’s life we all do it.
